A keystone on the old fire station, Wymondham, dated 1883 and inscribed ‘JdeRBC’ (for Mrs Julia de R.B.Clarke)
"This fire station, when first built, had to sets of doors with a smaller door between them. When motorised appliances arrived, however, the central door was removed to allow for two sets of wider doors to accommodate two Commer pumps, one with a trailer pump."

Presented to the town by
Mrs. Julia de Rubigne Beevor Clarke,
it housed the Volunteer Fire
Brigade until 1967.
