Rodrigo Díaz was born in Vivar, small village placed to 7 kilometres of the city of Burgos in 1043. Son of Diego Laínez, noble gentleman of the Castilian Court and of a daughter of Rodrigo Alvarez. Descendant is for Laín Calvo's paternal line, one of two Judges of Castile.
