Mgarr ix-Xinni

Mgarr ix-Xinni, the name of this fjord-like bay
indicates its role as a landing place (mgarr) for
ships (xini). This inlet was used by the Kights
as a place for careening the galleys, and to
carry out repairs and maintenance.

Careening is the act of turning a ship on its side for cleaning, caulking, or repair.
