"Sehr nahe an der Karnevalshochburg Köln liegt das kleine Eifel-Städtchen Blankenheim an der Quelle der Ahr, in dem bereits seit 1613 uralte Karnevalsbräuche bewahrt werden. Bereits im Jahre 1986 überließ die Gemeinde Blankenheim den Narren das mitten im Ort stehende uralte "Georgstor".
Es entstand ein Karnevalsmuseum, in dem alle schriftlichen, bildhaften und gegenständlichen Zeugnisse über das Blankenheimer Karnevalsbrauchtum gesammelt wurden. Uralte Dokumente, Bilder und Plakate, sowie die Traditionsfiguren im Blankenheimer Karneval lassen den Besuch zu einem Erlebnis werden.
Verwirklicht wurde die Idee des "Blankenheimer Karnevalsmuseums" 1990.
Eine ständige Ausstellung, die über Tradition und Karnevalsbräuche informiert.
