J.C. and Laura O. King have an interesting configuration for their Woodmen of the World and Woodmen Circle monuments in Bethel Cemetery, southwest of Weatherford in rural Parker County, TX.

Mr. and Mrs. King died just a day apart at the end of 1918, which was not a good year for the Spanish Influenza, of which they may have been casualties at their comparatively young ages.

Each has a standard Woodmen monument, but what makes this one interesting is the log that bridges the two, with "Father" and "Mother" on their respective sides. Note that Dove of Peace, usually represented as being alive, is dead, in the center of the log. The inscriptions are:
