The Okemah Public Library building is a rectangular building with a flat roof. It is constructed of cut, coursed and rusticated native sand stone. The original single door entrance facing north in the projected entry, has been converted into a window unit. The current door is located on the east side of this projection and a handicap ramp has been added.

On the northwest corner of the building, a windowless stone addition was added in the 1960's. Windows in the original building are large multi-paned fixed units with stone sills and lintels.
