This building is typical of what was constructed with Treasury funding under the New Deal. It was built in 1938. The brick is light tan, and a wide frieze at the roof line reads "United States Post Office / Okemah, Oklahoma". The centered entrance has a single door and divided sidelight. Above the entrance is a metal grill work with an eagle. A handicap ramp has been added on the left and the building cornerstone can be seen behind its railing.
The cornerstone reads:
Henry Morgenthau Jr. Secretary of the Treasury James A. Farley Postmaster General Louis A. Simon Supervising Architect Neal A. Melick Supervising Engineer 1938
