At 106 years old, Saint Matthew Roman Catholic Church is one of the oldest buildings in the area.
Signage in front of the rectory indicates that Saint Matthew was established in 1866 but the current church was only built in 1912. Both the rectory and church are grand edifices on a main corner of Brooklyn that includes the Utica Av subway station.
