Penelope is 15 miles south of Hillsboro in Hill County. It was settled in the early 1890s, when the Seley family established the Zee Vee Ranch. Over the next decade a number of Anglo and Czech families moved into the region.

This church congregation started in 1909. This red brick sanctuary was built in 1951.

It is two story building with a tower on the left side topped with a cross.
