From 2014 the locals had decided for the need for a War Memorial, in addition to the 'Nautical Flag Pole' at the Wooli Bowling & Recreation Club which would have flown the appropriate flags at ANZAC and Remembrance days. Funding was provided by the Federal Government.

From 'The Daily Examiner', of 27 November, 2014, there is an article, "Wooli wins grant for cenotaph", where it states that a $11,088 government grant was made available for the granite cenotaph, and announced by the Member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker. "Mr Hartsuyker, who was joined by Wooli Lions Club president Bruce Bird and Minister for Veterans' Affairs Michael Ronaldson for the announcement said the efforts of the local community had been crucial in securing the grant." Daily Examiner: Wooli Cenotaph grant

Just up from the Tennis Courts and Playground at Wooli is the grey granite memorial. It is made of sawn and polished granite slabs, assembled on a single white concrete step on a concrete base. There is a square granite slab on top of four slabs that are formed as a base about 40 cm high. On top that there four slightly tapered 'isosceles trapezoidal' granite slabs capped by a very obtuse pointed pyramidal granite slab. It stands about 1.8 metres tall, and is surrounded by 'stacked' log walls, with a metal pipe railing on the beach side of the Cenotaph. There are a couple of plain metal benches on the western side for observers.

World War One
On the western side of the memorial is a weathered square bronze plaque, which looks like it would have come from another memorial, by the aging and colouration of the corrosion. It reads:

WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM

    LEST WE FORGET

FROM THE GRATEFUL MANY

Below that, on the western base, is a polished, rectangular black marble plaque / tablet that reads:

 TO COMMEMORATE THE LIVES

OF THOSE WHO FOUGHT IN WWI

World War Two; and Vietnam
On the northern side of the memorial is a bronze plaque, which reads:

      The Australian Army crest
	WORLD WAR 2 1939-1945

NX176613 (N298975)	Fuller Ernest Arthur

	VIETNAM 1962-1973

On the southern side of the memorial is a second bronze plaque, with the details of one more local, for World War Two, and it reads:
