The small town of Coupar Angus is situated in Strathmore in the eastern part of Perthshire. It contains three churches, Abbey Church (Church of Scotland), St.Mary's (Catholic), and the Episcopal Church of St.Anne's.

St.Anne's was built in 1847-48 by John Hay of Edinburgh. It is a simple construction of sandstone, with a slate roof.

The church is situated on the east side of the town adjacent to the main A94 Forfar Road on its north side.
