A plaque located in front of a sculpture of a ballerina and within Central Park reads:
TREES AND BENCHES PRESENTED BY THE ROTARY CLUBS OF CORVALLIS IN COMMEMORATION OF 75 YEARS OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY, THE NATION AND TO ALL MANKIND. FEBRUARY 23, 1980 |
There are a couple of newer park benches in addition to the original dedicated benches from 1980. The trees look to have grown nicely in this park. The sculpture of the ballerina was also sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Corvallis.
There are two Rotary Clubs in Corvallis, the oldest being the Corvallis Rotary Club, a local fixture since 1923. The is the Rotary Club of Greater Corvallis, a local fixture since 1977-8.
