[GER] Hans Hummel, mit bürgerlicher Name Johann Wilhelm Bentz, (geb. 21. Januar 1787 in Hamburg; gest. 15. März 1854) war ein Wasserträger in der Hamburger Neustadt. Er gilt als Schöpfer des Hamburger Grußes „Hummel, Hummel – Mors, Mors“. Er wird daher immer noch als bekanntester Vertreter alter Hamburger Originale angesehen.
Am Restaurant "zum Eichtalpark" befindet sich an der Gibelwand ein Gemählde vom Wasserträger Hans Hummel.
[ENG] Hans Hummel, with his real name Johann Wilhelm Bentz (born January 21, 1787 in Hamburg; died March 15, 1854) was a water bearer in the Neustadt district of Hamburg. He is regarded as the creator of the Hamburg greeting "Hummel, Hummel - Mors, Mors". He is therefore still regarded as the best known representative of old Hamburg originals.
At the restaurant "zum Eichtalpark" there is a painting of the water bearer Hans Hummel on the gable wall.
