The 'other side' of Wollombi Brook, to the Stewart McTaggart Park, is this small 'Rest Stop'. It used to be on Herbert Street, but it is now called Milbrodale Road, so that was the only connection I could see, while in the area.
On the Singleton Council sign, there was several Warnings: Uneven Ground, Steep Banks - down to Wollombi Brook, and Variable Water Depth - of Wollombi Brook. Also, that there was to be: No Glass Bottles, No Littering - a rubbish bin is provided, No Camping - no mention about RV's, and No Cattle Grazing - well, it is in the country!
So, apart from it being mostly grassed, apart from some gravel for the parking area, there was a covered picnic table, and a large rubbish bin. Pretty basic, but useful to pull over for a rest and stretch of the legs.
The History Sign for the nearby Broke Bridge is on the other side of Wollombi Brook.
The website link below gives a smattering of details, like, its elevation is 84 metres; Big Rigs can park here, and that there is the Drive Through option for those with caravans. But, there was certainly a rubbish bin there, when I visited in December, 2017
