This homemade headstone is one of a few located in this tiny cemetery. Findagrave.com contains an obituary for Ulis which reads:
Ulis. F. Kirkpatrick of Goshen, Ore., passed away Jan. 12, 1956, at the age of 72 years. He was born in Rosebud, Ill., June 2, 1883. He was married in Mound City, Ill., Dec. 25, 1910, to Hattie B. Rothman, who preceded him in death in 1923. Surviving are 7 daughters: Mrs. Eva O'Neil of Wichita, Kans., Mrs. Erma Smith of Des Moines, Ia., Mrs. G. L. Nordquist of Goshen, Ore., Mrs. Howard West of Lebanon, Mo., Mrs. Ted Batesel of Oakley, Calif., Mrs. Wayne Rollinson of Springfield, Ore., Miss Phyllis Kirkpatrick of Jefferson, Ore.; 5 sons: Charles of the Merchant Marines, Donald of Creswell, Ore., Robert and Thomas, both of Los Angeles and Jerry of Jefferson, Ore.; 16 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Buell Chapel on Monday, Jan. 16, 1956, at 11 a.m. with rev. Lowell Hall officiating. Internment will be in the Goshen Grange Cemetery.
