Overall distance is 9 kilometres return along gravel fire trails with narrow footpaths at the end leading to the views. The walks start at a locked gate beside Tallowa Dam Road & after 500 metres you arrive at the start of the Shoalhaven River View trail, a 4 kilometre return walk. A sign displays the walks, their direction & distance at this point. Once you return to the sign it is 2.5 kilometres return to Tallowa Dam View & upon returning from that, about 1.1 kilometres return to Lake Yarrunga View. There is no need to back track to the sign. All tracks are well sign posted.

The walks are graded Moderate with gentle hill sections & firm ground underfoot. Bring water, snacks & wear suitable clothing. Apply sunscreen as there is little shade & aerogard to keep the flys at bay.

The first photograph is taken from the Shoalhaven River View, the second from the Tallowa Dam View & the third from the Lake Yarrunga View.

These are very popular walks but all trails end at steep, unfenced cliffs so keep your children safe.

The bluish colouration to the photographs is caused by oil bearing Eucalyptus trees. The atmosphere is filled with finely dispersed droplets of oil, which, in combination with dust particles and water vapour, scatter short-wave length rays of light which are predominantly blue in colour.
