With the Foundation Stones being made of sandstone, it is no wonder that they have weathered some, but it looks like there may have been some deliberated damage done. The church is built of dark brown bricks, with buttresses, and arched windows, with stained glass 'lights'.
The Foundation Stone in the centre of the southern end of the Church has the following inscription, of which some has been damaged beyond being decipherable:
This Foundation Stone
was laid by
Mrs Jxxx xxxxxry
on 17th September.
1910
B. Dinning Supt Minister
On the western side, above the ramp, and adjacent to the Gothic-arched doorway entrance, is another Foundation Stone, slightly less weathered and damaged, which reads:
This Foundation Stone
was laid by
F. Over Seq.
on 17th September
1910
It seems that it started as either a Methodist, or, a Presbyterian Church and not as a Congregation congregation. From 1977 this was an Uniting Church congregation, which later closed, and became a 'Performing Arts Centre'. It is now used by The Lighthouse Church. [I am not sure what the initial Denomination was, but trying to find out.] Some information ex 'Crows Nest Uniting Church': Congregational History
