Ballumbie Castle golf course was opened in June 2000 as part of a new housing development in the grounds of Ballumbie House on the north-eastern edge of Dundee on the border with the county of Angus.

The course has since matured into a hilly parkland setting with a section of water hazards at the start of the back nine. The course plays to a par 69 at around 6,000 yards off the back tees. A 20 bay covered driving range is adjacent to the first tee.
