The Adolphus Hotel is an amazingly beautiful showplace building, the kind Dallas usually razes after a few decades (the hotel was built in 1912 on the former site of the 1880s Dallas City Hall -- see what we mean?). Fortunately, the Adolphus is going strong into its 2nd century as a Dallas landmark building.
Chimeras of Roman soldiers, grotesques of leering faces, and bronzes of Greco-Roman gods all grace the facade of the Adolphus, on the 1st and 12th floors, and above.
