This brick and concrete memorial is located in the Maple Grove Cemetery. The Memorial consists of a cinder block plinth painted red with four concrete inscription slabs. Atop the plinth is a short column with a sphere at the top. The sphere and column have been whitewashed. The inscriptions read as follows:
"G.A.R. Medal
G.A.R. Cemetery 1887
In Memory of Our Country's Defenders
In Memory of Comrades that Lie in the Southland in Unmarked Graves"
