Decades ago, this north-south trail was a road dividing Nepean township's concession 5 from concession 6. Following the road allowance south, it eventually becomes roads we now know as Scissons and then Richmond. Waypoint 24 C marks a major intersection of trails. Trail users will notice old signs on the eastbound trail marking it as both National Capital Commissin (NCC) trail #24 and trail #25. The #25 designation refers to the trail system surrounding the Lime Kiln.
The NCC maintains waypoint signs throughout the Greenbelt, a natural area which surrounds the city of Ottawa. The waypoints mark trail intersections. The signs include geographic co-ordinates and a map of other waypoints.
