The Hamilton Post Office was designed by C.H.E. Blackman. The facade is finished in cement rendered brick, with a bluestone plinth. The front elevation on the ground level features a colonnaded loggia with four arches, with two matching arched windows on either side. The upper level maintains the arcaded facade, with windows corresponding to arches on the ground level. The central tower, a later (1890) addition, has four clock faces surmounted by pediments.
