This is a small/compact metal sign, angled about 45°, it is on a round metal post beside the Bomaderry Creek Trail. It has a photo of a mature spotted gum tree, and a line drawing of the seed pods, to help identify the spotted gum. It reads:
Spotted gum
(Corymbia maculata)
Eucalypts within the park range from the threatened shrub-sized Nowra mallee to the towering spotted gum. You can easily recognise spotted gums by their silky leopard spot bark.
The timber from these trees is strong but flexible and was once harvested for the shipbuilding industry that flourished around the bays and inlets of the south coast during the heyday of coastal shipping.
