The statue is in the French garden of the castle of Eu, it is a reproduction in polymer resin by the molding workshop of the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, a marble work of imperial time (I and 2nd century AD)

The god is represented larger than the man (the statue measures 2.24 meters), naked, wearing sandals and a chlamys (coat) on the shoulders. Represented in full swing, he advances his right leg - the left leg, bent backwards, resting only on tiptoe. The right arm (broken before the restored elbow in the sixteenth century) rests along the body while the left arm, on which rests a coat, is stretched perpendicular to the torso (the hand is restored).

The god looks to the left, that is to say in the opposite direction to that of his walk, thus creating a composition in X. His abundant hair is made of long wavy strands some of which are brought back to the top of the forehead and knotted , probably to avoid disturbing him in the action. This type of hairstyle is frequently found in bathing Aphrodites or hunting Artemis.

The quiver worn over the shoulder makes it possible to conclude with certainty that the god held a bow in his left hand. On the other hand, the attribute held in the right hand is debated. The two most likely propositions are an arrow or a branch of laurel tied with strips, the traces of which have been thought to be found on the trunk of a tree which serves as a prop for the leg. Holding an arrow, Apollo would be represented in his role of vengeful god, perhaps staged in the Niobid massacre. Holding a branch of laurel, he would be represented in his role of purifier.

La statue se trouve dans le jardin à la française du château d'Eu, c'est une reproduction en résine polymère par l'Atelier de moulage de la Réunion des Musées nationaux, d'une oeuvre en marbre d'époque impériale (Ier et IIème siècle après J.-C.)

Le dieu est représenté plus grand que l'homme(la statue mesure 2,24 mètres), nu, portant des sandales et une chlamyde (manteau) sur les épaules. Représenté en plein élan, il avance la jambe droite — la jambe gauche, fléchie vers l'arrière, ne reposant que sur la pointe du pied. Le bras droit (brisé avant le coude restauré au XVIe siècle) repose le long du corps tandis que le bras gauche, sur lequel repose un pan du manteau, est tendu perpendiculairement au torse (la main est restaurée).

Le dieu regarde vers la gauche, c'est-à-dire dans la direction opposée à celle de sa marche, créant ainsi une composition en X. Sa chevelure abondante est faite de longues mèches ondulées dont certaines sont ramenées en haut du front et nouées, sans doute pour éviter de le gêner dans l'action. Ce type de coiffure se retrouve fréquemment chez des Aphrodites au bain ou des Artémis chassant.

Le carquois porté en bandoulière permet de conclure avec certitude que le dieu tenait un arc dans la main gauche. En revanche, l'attribut tenu dans la main droite fait débat. Les deux propositions les plus vraisemblables font état d'une flèche ou d'un rameau de laurier noué de bandelettes dont on a pensé retrouver les traces sur le tronc d'arbre qui sert d'étai à la jambe. Tenant une flèche, Apollon serait représenté dans son rôle de dieu vengeur, peut-être mis en scène dans le massacre des Niobides. Tenant un rameau de laurier, il serait représenté dans son rôle de purificateur.
