The New England Highway passed close to this Celtic monolith however a realignment saw it bypassed. Glen Innes was settled by people migrating from Scotland & there are many of these imposing structures in & around the town.

A plaque attached to one of the supports states:

These stones are a gift to the community from the members of the Glen Innes Rotary Club in recognition of the Centenary of Rotary International in 2005 & dedicated to the memory of Rotarian John Tregurtha AM. Cyc.
