He was born on December 28, 1865 in Platte River, WY and died on August 26, 1913 Presido of San Francisco, CA. He rose to the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army. His Medal of Honor information and citation is: BAKER, EDWARD L., JR.

• Place and date: At Santiago, Cuba, 1 July 1898

Citation: Left cover and, under fire, rescued a wounded comrade from drowning
