County of quadrivia: Callaway County
Location of quadrivia: CR-132, CR-133, State Hwy UU & Stte Hwy JJ, Toledo
The intersection is a very active one for being this far out in the country. CR-133 comes from the ghost town of Reform in the south, about 6 miles away
CR-132 goes east, and takes you to the ghost town of Yucatan, about 5 miles away.
State Hwy UU goes west from here, and takes you to the county seat , Fulton, about 8 miles away.
And Hwy JJ goes north, small town of Calwood (yes, still there), and a couple miles more does eventually take you to I-70 where you can find civilization with ease.
Toledo was a town, founded approximately 1840s. History of the area is scant.
"Toledo: Nothing was found concerning the origin of the name." ~ Cited on Railroad Commissioner's Map of Missouri 1910
Toledo was east of Fulton and southwest of Yucatan." Village Map of MO., 1910, Kenyon
It was located on R. F. D. from Fulton." ~ The State of Missouri 1904, Walter Williams, page 343
"The church is located at the crossroads of several state and county roads. The building faces east onto CR 133, and sits on a large lot that includes a cemetery. The cemetery markers face east and are laid in long north-south rows, though many plots appear to be unused or unmarked." ~ Rural Churches of Callaway County, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, PDF page 198
