Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District is based in Baytown, TX. It has 14 Elementary Schools, 5 Junior High Schools, and 4 High Schools.

Republic of Texas Plaza is the home to the Wooster Common School No. 38 (!894), believed to be the oldest known existing one-room school house in Harris County, TX. The Brown-McKay House (1910), built by Walter Brown, this house is a depiction of early life in Baytown. Both buildings are completely restored and available for private tours by appointment, and open to the public on the third Satyrday of each month.
