"The Missouri Department of Conservation will be stocking the City of Fulton’s Veterans Park Lake with 800 rainbow trout this weekend. The trout will be ten to 13 inches long and weigh approximately three-quarters of a pound. Also included in the stocking will be some trout that weigh as much as six pounds.

"There are special restrictions when fishing at Veterans Park Lake. Between November 1 and January 31, 2016, fishing is strictly catch and release and only flies, artificial lures and unscented bait can be used. Beginning on February 1, 2016, fish can be kept, but there is a limit of four per day.

"Any anglers age 16 to 64 must possess a valid Missouri Fishing Permit. Also, anyone wishing to keep trout beginning on February 1 must purchase a separate trout permit. Trout permits cost $7 with youth ages 6 to 15 costing $3.50 and regular fishing permits $12 for all Missouri residents." ~ City of Fulton, Parks & Recreation, October 20, 2015

Recommended tackle: Salmon eggs for trout; worm and bobber for cat and sunfish between Feb 1 & Oct 30.
