In Boston, within the Cedar Grove Cemetery, is a circle of stone blocks and a flag pole that make up a war memorial.

Cedar Grove Cemetery is located near the southern boundary of Boston and is bounded by Granite Avenue, Milton Street, Adams Street, and Butler Street and the Neponset River Greenway pedestrian walkway. The main entrance is at the intersection of Milton Street and Adams Street. From there, the memorial is about a hundred feet in, by the chapel.

The memorial is in a triangular area shaped by the roads. There is a circular stone paver plaza with stone blocks rising from them. At the center is a flagpole. The stone blocks have bronze plaques attached with columns of names. One plaque identified the names as being members of VFW 8699. The flagpole is dedicated to a past commander of the Post.

I saw no indication of the wars that the veterans served or even the years they served. Only on the plaque on a small monument is there a dedication date of November 26, 1946. I'll take this as the earliest date, and the names here are likely veterans of World War II.
