This plaque from 2006 dedicates the Roxy Theatre building as a Municipal Heritage Building. It would be nice if, one day, someone would bring the facade back to its former self.
It was originally used for live performances such as vaudeville, dramas, concerts, lectures and political rallies.
The plaque reads:
"The Roxy"
Neepawa's Community Theatre
Built in 1906 to replace
the fire ravaged opera house.
Became the Roxy Theatre Movie
House in the Art Deco design of
the 1930's.
Operate by community volunteers
since 1988.
Community owned since 1989.
A Municipal Heritage Building.
Designated by the Town of Neepawa.
