Der Warnemünder Fischmarkt befindet sich an der Ostseite des Alten Stroms und zwar unmittelbar an der historischen gusseisernen Drehbrücke von 1903. Sie verbindet das Ortszentrum und die Mittelmole. Empfohlen ist der Besuch des Fischmarkts besonders in den frühen Morgenstunden. Dann landen nämlich einlaufende Fischkutter den fangfrischen Ostseefisch an, den Sie direkt vom Schiff kaufen können. Die kesse aber liebenswürdige Art der Fischer von Warnemünde wird Ihnen bei einem Gespräch ein Schmunzeln abringen ;-).
An den Anlegestellen der Fischkutter am Alten Strom befinden sich Verkaufsstände mit einem reichhaltigen Angebot an einheimischen Räucherfisch. Allein der Geruch frisch geräucherten Fischs lässt das Wasser im Munde zusammen laufen. Hering gibt es saisonal als frischen Fisch und Bückling. Ganzjährig gibt es ihn hingegen als Rollmops oder Bismarckbrötchen.
Der bei Einheimischen und Touristen gleichermaßen beliebte Fischmarkt öffnet samstags und sonntags von 08.00 bis 18.00 Uhr. In der Woche geht es dort etwas ruhiger zu."

The fish market in Warnemünde is located on the eastern side of the Old River, directly adjacent to the historic cast-iron swing bridge built in 1903, which connects the town centre and the central pier. We recommend visiting the fish market especially in the early morning hours. Then the freshly caught Baltic Sea fish, which you can buy directly from the ship, is landed by incoming fishing cutters. The cheeky but friendly way of the fishermen from Warnemünde will make you smile during a conversation; -).
There are stalls selling a wide range of local smoked fish at the fishing boat docks on the Old River. The smell of freshly smoked fish alone makes your mouth water. Herring is available seasonally as fresh fish and kipper. Throughout the year, however, it is available as a rollmop or bismarck roll.
The fish market, popular with locals and tourists alike, opens on Saturdays and Sundays from 08.00 to 18.00 hrs. It's a little quieter this week."
