There also happens to be a couple of photos in the 'Engineers paper', on "How to stop the rot?", of the Styx River bridge.

With the road being cut into the sides of the valley, and a sheer drop down to Styx River on either side, there is minimal fill for the abutments, but there are hardwood piers, some 8 metres tall, on the southern end of the bridge.
Incidentally, the SIX Maps NSW website, that has 'satellite' imaging of NSW, did NOT have the new concrete bridge on it, when I checked it out on the 19th March, 2018, so it is quite likely that the concrete bridge has been built in the last three years.
