L'hôtel fut construit vers le milieu du xviiie siècle pour Jean d'Ailhaud, un médecin qui avait fait fortune en commercialisant sa poudre purgative. Mr d'Ailhaud fut ensuite anobli en achetant une charge de secrétaire du roi.

La porte, très haute, en noyer, tripartite, à assemblage de style Louis XV est de tradition classique. Les panneaux sont dissymétriques avec une tête de faune d'un coté et une fille de l'autre. Le panneau inférieur à motif floral arasé est de type mosaïque. Elle est surmontée par une jeune femme au chapeau. L'encadrement est à pilastres dédoublés, surmontés de chapiteaux corinthiens.

Le bâtiment est divisé en résidences privées et n'est pas ouvert à la visite.

The hotel was built around the middle of the eighteenth century for Jean d'Ailhaud, a doctor who had made a fortune marketing his purgative powder. Mr d'Ailhaud was then ennobled by buying a secretary's office of the king.

The door, very high, walnut, tripartite, assembly Louis XV style is of classical tradition. The panels are asymmetrical with a wildlife head on one side and a girl on the other. The lower panel with flush floral pattern is mosaic. It is surmounted by a young woman in a hat. The frame is with split pilasters, surmounted by Corinthian capitals.

The building is divided into private residences and is not open to visitors.
