Pend Oreille County Historical Museum is one of the most interesting museums we have visited, including those that took all day to tour. The museum complex consists of the historic I. & W. N. Depot building built in 1908 which houses the gift shop and displays on the first and second floors. The Pend Oreille County Historical Museum is celebrating their 50th anniversary. This Singer Treadle Sewing Machine is one of several that are displayed on the second floor.

This 1901 Singer Sewing Machine is donated to the Pend Oreille County Historical Society in loving memory of William (Ed) and Cora Russell by their grand-daughter, Vernita (Giese) Flaskegaard

This is an outstanding example of a 1901 Singer Treadle Sewing Machine with a less common oak cabinet with beautifully detailed drawers. Considering its age it is still in very good condition though some of the lettering is chipping.

Singer began manufacturing sewing machine in 1851 by Isaac Merritt Singer with New York lawyer Edward Clark. Best known for its sewing machines, it was renamed Singer Manufacturing Company in 1865.
