A dragon is a legendary and mythical creature, typically scaled or fire-spewing and with serpentine, reptilian or avian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures around world.
The dragon sculptures were created by Ames metal sculptor Dave Johnson. One of them, a yellow dragon with green legs and arms, blue teeth and other colorful details, is on display near the southwest corner of City Hall.
The second dragon is a smaller, purple figure with yellow arms and legs and red, blue and white details.
