Le "jardin botanique de l'évêché" occupe une partie de l'ancien parc de l'évêché de Limoges. Il a été créé dans les années 1950 pour servir de lieu d'observation aux étudiants de la faculté de pharmacie. Il peut-être découpé en 3 parties :
-) Jardin historique (ou systématique)
C'est la partie la plus ancienne du jardin, riche de 1 500 espèces végétales, réparties en parterres et rocailles.
-) Jardin à thèmes (ou pratique)
Situé sur la terrasse intermédiaire, on y trouve, alignés en rangées, plantes médicinales, plantes dites industrielles, aromatiques, alimentaires, colorantes, et un espace réservé aux plantes protégées du Limousin.
-) Jardin écologique
En contrebas de la chapelle, sur le site de l'ancien monastère de la Règle, tout près de la Cité des métiers et des arts de Limoges, cette partie du jardin se caractérise par une reconstitution de milieux naturels régionaux (chênaie et charmaie, hêtraie, lande à bruyères, zone humide, tourbière). Il est agrémenté d'un kiosque.

The "botanical garden of the bishopric" occupies part of the old park of the bishopric of Limoges. It was created in the 1950s to serve as a place of observation for students of the faculty of pharmacy. It can be divided into 3 parts:

-) Eco garden
Below the chapel, on the site of the former monastery of the Rule, near the City of crafts and arts of Limoges, this part of the garden is characterized by a reconstruction of regional natural environments (oak and charmaia, beech , heather heath, wetland, peat bog). It is decorated with a kiosk. |
