"Laiterie et fromagerie industrielles du Vieux château

Historique :
Le moulin à blé d'Anfrenet, datant de la 2e moitié du 19e siècle, est augmenté, en 1904, d'un logement dans lequel s'installe, aux environs de 1940, la société coopérative dite Laiterie du Vieux-Château, fondée en 1902 pour la fabrication de beurre. De 1918 à 1930, les sociétaires sont passés de 400 à 1800. L'ancien moulin à blé d'Anfrenet subsiste dans la partie sud-ouest de l'usine actuelle. Un corps de bâtiment abritant les quais de déchargement et les bureaux est bâti dans les années 1940. Un atelier de fabrication est édifié dans les années 1960. Un nouvel atelier est construit en 1972. Depuis 1982 et son entrée dans le groupe Capri-beurre, l'usine devient une simple unité de production, les services administratifs ayant été regroupés sur un seul site. Actuellement, environ 200 producteurs fournissent le lait ramassé dans une zone se situant à l'est de Gençay jusqu'à Montmorillon. L'entreprise dépend désormais du groupe Glac à Surgères.
En 1922, il y a 29 employés, en 1930, 7 employés, dans les années 1970 on compte 80 à 100 employés et en 1995, 35 employés.
Le premier atelier de fabrication et le logement d'ouvriers sont en moellon enduit, à un étage carré et un étage de soubassement, couvert d'un toit à longs pans en tuile creuse. Le corps de bâtiment des années 1940, abritant les bureaux et les quais de déchargement, est en moellon et en rez-de-chaussée, à charpente métallique, couvert d'un toit à longs pans, croupes et pignon découvert, en tuile mécanique. L'atelier de fabrication des années 1960 est en parpaing de béton, en rez-de-chaussée avec 1 étage de soubassement, couvert d'un toit à longs pans à croupes en tuile mécanique et en ciment amiante. L'atelier de fabrication de 1972 est en rez-de-chaussée et en parpaing de béton couvert d'un toit à longs pans en ciment amiante."

The wheat mill of Anfrenet, dating from the second half of the 19th century, is increased, in 1904, a dwelling in which settles, around 1940, the cooperative society called Laiterie du Vieux-Château, founded in 1902 for the manufacture of butter.
