This is a 'Simple Span', 'Through Truss', concrete deck bridge, built to upgrade the then Pacific Highway, on its journey from Sydney to Brisbane. This was built a little separate to the wooden truss bridge, but also has three sets of pylons supporting the four spans of through truss design.
Parking at the front of the Kempsey Macleay RSL building, near the base or abutment of the western end could be possible. There is a ramp to the Dated Plaque and pedestrian footpath over the river.
