EN Over the centuries, the castle fell into disrepair and was damaged. Today, there remains only the wall of a tower of the castle.

There has always been a watchtower at the top of this hill since the Celts and Gauls.

Around the year 900, the Saracens attack the city and the Manosquins leave the village (current historical center) to settle in 5 small hamlets located on the heights.

In 974, Guillaume, son of the Count of Arles, liberates the Provence of the Saracens. The County of Provence is created. Guillaume, known as "the liberator", had a castle built on the Mont d'Or for his winter residence. A true fortified village settles on the Mont d'Or.

The inhabitants will return very gradually to populate the borough.

Until the beginning of the 19th century, the tower of which remains remains, had its four sides.

Around 1943, she has only two sections of wall. During the war, the Italians would have used one of the sections of wall to make shelter.

Once the tower is seen, you can go around the top of the hill and enjoy beautiful views of the city below and the valley of the Durance.
