FR La bibliothèque municipale créée en novembre 1995 a ouvert en janvier 1996. Une association "Lire aujourd'hui" est créée spécialement dans le but de l'animer. Débuts modestes, avec l'aide de la bibliothèque départementale de prêt, son dépôt de livres, et des dons de bibliothèques ou de particuliers, dans la salle BCD de l'école élémentaire Rouvier, puis, deux ans plus tard, dans une salle communale qui devient vite trop exiguë.
2007 : installation définitive dans un bel espace rénové de 180 m² pris dans le rempart du XIVème siècle et le palais épiscopal devenu après la Révolution l'Hôtel de Ville.
En 2009, la bibliothèque municipale prend le nom d'un auteur riézois, Alphonse Rabbe (1754-1829), écrivain et poète romantique, journaliste et historien. Ses publications son nombreuses, seul l'Album d'un Pessimiste est aujourd'hui réédité. Ami de Victor Hugo et d'Alexandre Dumas, il meurt à 45 ans.
Depuis le 1er janvier 2013, la bibliothèque Alphonse Rabbe n'est plus municipale, elle est rattachée et gérée par la DLVA (Durance Luberon Verdon Agglomération). Elle est toujours animée par les bénévoles de Lire aujourd'hui qui assurent quatre permanences par semaine.
