This dirt dog park is well fenced, but often is 'Thunderdome' for dogs due to uncaring owners. Exercise caution if you bring your dog(s).

"The city’s only off-leash Dog Park is located on the east side of Irma Drive at Leroy Drive, right next to Jaycee Park.
The dog park was established in 2003 and is an asset to the community and the many dogs and their owners who visit the park daily. The park includes a fenced area, a shade structure, a water fountain and solar lighting.
Former Councilman William “Bill” Goodspeed was instrumental in the park’s conception." (from (

"This park has a separate small dog area, lights, shade, a water spigot, and benches. This park is mostly dirt and doggy bags are provided by the city and also donated. Dog Owners Group (DOG) helped in the creation of this dog park. Bill Godspeed donated the land for this dog park." (from (

I have used this park as few times. Sadly, there are enough uncaring owners and aggressive dogs that I will never use it again. Most hazardous on the weekends when people come with their dogs that are not well socialized and just turn them loose and then play on their cell phones. Lots of parking on the weekdays; can be tight on the weekend if there is a baseball game.
