Lauren’s Garden is a fountain and garden memorial located at the northern edge of Market Square Park in downtown Houston, Texas. The memorial is dedicated to all the victims of 9/11, with a special dedication to passengers and crew of Flight 93 -- including Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas who was a local Houstonian.

The memorial includes a fountain with a cast-bronze sculpture created by Ketria Bastian Scott at its center, a granite medallion, a bronze bust of Lauren, and flowerbeds surrounding each of the central art pieces.

The plaque at the memorial reads:

"Laura's Garden is dedicated to all the victims of the attacks of September 11, 2001, in memory of Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas, a native Houstonian and passenger on United Flight 93.

The three granite walls in the fountain represent the three crash sites, New York, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania.

Each smooth stone in the fountain represents a life lost. Water gently flows around 40 large stones for those on United Flight 93. 2,653 small pebbles line the front of the fountain for those who died at the World Trade Center, along with 194 larger pebbles for those who died at the Pentagon.

The sight of the tower rising in the distance from mist in the center of the fountain reminds us of both out vulnerability and our strength.

Bronze sculptures in the fountain modeled after the bristlecone pine, an organism that can survive 5,000 years, symbolizes our endurance. A bronze vine in the granite medallion in the plaza symbolizes resilience.

Flowing water, stone, trees and flowers commemorate Lauren's love of the outdoors, celebrating nature and the preciousness of life."
