Texas Historic Site Atlas This building was constructed in 1902 for Mr. L. Swartz and Co. In 1944 the building was leased to the J. C. Penny Company

The building is a two-story red brick structure. The building has been painted white. There is extensive ornamental brickwork at the top of the building. The second floor contains seven round arched windows. The building also has pilasters extending from the second floor just above the roofline.
