News Release from the City of Greenville related to the park dedication.
"City officials and community volunteers gathered on Monday for the dedication of a new pocket park in honor of a local garden club. McDaniel Park, located at the corner of McDanielAvenue and McDaniel Green, was dedicated to the Dorothy Haynsworth Garden Club in honor of its 50th anniversary. The park features Swimmer, a bronze statue by Jeanne Pasley (1985), which was donated to the City in 2015 in memory of Eugenia and William Thomason, by their sons, Will and David. In addition to the natural stone plaza, seat wall, walking path and native plants, the passive park also includes a stone bench, which honors garden club founder Dorothy Haynsworth and Eugenia Thomason, who served as its first president."
