ERECTED TO THE MEMORY
OF OUR
CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS
BY THE
RUSSELL-HILL CHAPTER
U.D.C.
"LEST WE FORGET"
Proper description of monument: (My humble effort)
A marble column rising from a square platform base to a floral impressed tapered base to the next section. This I call the center base which has a chain bordering the square which hold the only text on the monument.
Next section up is a square set of pairs of Corinthian columns on all four side of the monument, with the front and rear bearing the image in relief art of Robert E. Lee (front) and Bedford Forrest (rear). The proper right and left panels are blank.
Upon that rising to the metal statue of the Confederate Soldier is a square column decorated with three rings of floral design imprinted in strips.
