Das Museum für Abgüsse Klassischer Bildwerke München zeigt Skulpturen der griechischen und römischen Antike vom 7. Jahrhundert vor Chr. bis zum 5. Jahrhundert nach Chr.

Im Rahmen der Gründung eines Lehrstuhls für Klassische Archäologie an der Universität München wurde das Museum 1869 von Heinrich Brunn errichtet. 1944 wurde die Sammlung bei einem Bombenangriff zerstört. Nach dem Krieg begann ein langsamer Wiederaufbau, erst unter Paul Zanker wurde die Sammlung systematisch ausgebaut. Das Museum befindet sich seit 1976 im ehemaligen NSDAP-Verwaltungsgebäude, dem heutigen Haus der Kulturinstitute und ist seit 1991 dauerhaft für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Insgesamt beherbergt es über 1800 Abgüsse und stellt damit das viertgrößte Abgussmuseum Deutschlands dar.

Seit Juni 2005 befindet sich dort ein farbig gefasstes Modell des Parthenon von Athen, das eine Dauerleihgabe des Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York ist.

Als wichtiges archäologisches Arbeitswerkzeug des Museums gilt die zugehörige Photothek, deren Bestand etwa 100.000 Fotos umfasst.

The Museum of Castings of Classical Paintings Munich shows sculptures of Greek and Roman antiquity from the 7th century BC to the 5th century AD.

As part of the establishment of a chair for Classical Archeology at the University of Munich, the museum was built in 1869 by Heinrich Brunn. In 1944, the collection was destroyed in a bombing raid. After the war began a slow reconstruction, only under Paul Zanker, the collection was systematically expanded. The museum is located since 1976 in the former NSDAP administration building, today's house of cultural institutes and has been permanently open to the public since 1991. In all, it houses over 1800 casts, making it the fourth largest casting museum in Germany.

Since June 2005, there is a colorful model of the Parthenon of Athens, which is a permanent loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

An important archaeological work tool of the museum is the associated photo library, whose inventory contains around 100,000 photos.
