Red Phonebox placed here 2015
Red telephon box in the classic english style here in the pedestrian area of Plauen

All bookworms may look forward to: A new book cell invites you to linger and browse on the corner of Bahnhofstraße / Stresemannstraße. From afar, the red telephone booth in the English style is striking. In recent days, she has been converted into a modern book rental station. Idea creator for the project is Nicole Döhling u.a. under the pseudonym Elena MacKenzie for several years writes romance novels and children's books. The Plauen author will continue to look after the book cell in the future.
About 50 books are available to the bookworms in the bookshelf, which was specially made for the project. "However, the offer of the blog will change quickly," is the source of ideas for sure. It would be great if there were still a few children's books on the bookshelf, because they are so far in short supply. The principle is that anyone who removes a book puts a new one on the shelf.
The city council of Plauen and Stadtwerke Strom Plauen support the initiative. Urban planning helped to find a suitable location, the municipal construction yard built the foundation, put the cell up and provided help with the installations. The local energy provider brings light into the darkness free of charge. The mini-library is equipped with a solar cell, via which a lamp with battery is driven.
