The bust is wearing a suit with a dress suit underneath. It sits on a stand, surrounded by an iron fence. A plaque on the base reads: "Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla (1753-1811) Father of Mexico. His battle cry for freedom on September 18, 1810. Led Mexico to independence from Spain and the end of colonialism. Statue Donated by Alberto and Carmencita Heredia and Family."
