The mural is located in Mac Dutra Park in downtown. The mural features Mexican folk dancers, flags, butterflies and people of different races. A plaque reads:

"Though many of us experienced hardships in the past, life has stabilized with each succeeding generation making gains in education and employment. The beautiful gardens in Half Moon Bay are idyllic. We have hope and community as shown by the children dancing and playing music and friends gathering in Mac Dutra Park. The paper cranes symbolized long life and hope, celebrating good luck. The menorah shows the light and wisdom of our diverse community. There is respect and compassion for all.

The gray cloud and ominous figures in the sky represents the underlying fear and anxiety currently being felt by many, There is the three of a wall that divide us, the fear that officials in vans will take family members a way. Some are afraid that healthcare and marriage equality will be repealed. Others fear that basic human rights will be attacked, The paper cranes have turned into black birds and bats. Fear is also being experienced by children as symbolized by the young girl trying to sleeping the nightmarish world.

There is hope for living without fear, in peace, acceptance and compassion. There are hands of people working together breaking down walls of separation and prejudice. Monarch butterflies flutter in rainbow of freedom and diversity. The importance of women's rights and gender equality is recognized., A dove flies above because there is no war only peace. We live in a place where people of all political views, races, religions, sexual orientation and gender live in unity, held by the loving hands of our community. We stand together, growing strong roots where families live and flourish in our beautiful coastal communities."
